Author Guidelines for Manuscript Submission
Submit your Manuscript: Click Here
Our journal is a premier platform for scholarly work that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries. We are committed to publishing innovative research that addresses complex, real-world problems by synthesising theories, methods, and data from two or more distinct fields.
All submissions are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. Authors are required to read and adhere to the following guidelines before submitting their work.
1. Scope and Eligibility
Submissions must demonstrate a clear and sophisticated multidisciplinary approach. A manuscript is eligible for consideration only if it:
Integrates methodologies, theories, or data from at least two different academic disciplines.
Clearly articulates the value of this intersectional approach in its introduction and conclusion.
Addresses a problem or question of "universal" or significant global relevance.
Presents original research, a comprehensive review of an interdisciplinary topic, or a compelling theoretical framework.
Manuscripts that are primarily confined to a single discipline, even if of high quality, will be deemed out of scope and may be rejected at the desk-review stage.
2. Manuscript Types
We welcome submissions in the following formats:
Research Articles (5,000 - 8,000 words): These are original research papers presenting new findings from an interdisciplinary perspective. They should include a clear hypothesis, methodology, results, and discussion.
Review Articles (7,000 - 10,000 words): These manuscripts provide a critical and comprehensive overview of a specific interdisciplinary topic. They should synthesize existing research, identify key trends and gaps, and propose new directions for future work.
Theoretical Frameworks (4,000 - 6,000 words): These submissions propose new conceptual models or theoretical approaches that facilitate interdisciplinary research.
Case Studies (3,000 - 5,000 words): These papers apply an interdisciplinary lens to analyze a specific real-world case or event.
Word counts include all text, but exclude the title page, abstract, and references.
3. Ethical Guidelines and Plagiarism
JUMI is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Plagiarism: All submissions are screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software. Plagiarized content will result in immediate rejection.
Authorship: All authors must have made a significant contribution to the work. The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors have approved the final manuscript and its submission to JUMI.
Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be construed as influencing the work.
4. Manuscript Preparation
All submissions should be prepared in accordance with the following guidelines. Failure to comply may result in a delay in processing.
Formatting: Use a standard, easily readable font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12pt) with 1-line spacing. All margins should be 1 inch (2.54 cm).
Title Page: This should be submitted as a separate file to ensure a double-blind review. It must include the full title of the manuscript, the names and affiliations of all authors, their ORCID IDs, and the contact information of the corresponding author.
Abstract: A structured abstract of no more than 250 words is required. It should clearly state the research question, the interdisciplinary approach, the main findings, and the implications of the work.
Keywords: Provide 5-7 keywords that are representative of the manuscript’s content, including the disciplines involved.
Main Body: The manuscript should be structured logically with clear headings (e.g., Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion). The main body must not contain any author-identifying information.
Citations and References: Use the Harvard Edition style for all citations and references. All in-text citations must have a corresponding entry in the reference list, and vice versa.
Figures and Tables: Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and have a clear, descriptive title. They must be placed within the manuscript at the appropriate point and be of high resolution.
The corresponding author will be the primary point of contact for all communication throughout the peer-review and publication process.
We look forward to receiving your original and innovative research.
